Myanmar: Civil war of 'many against many' tearing country up
Far-left Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein was arrested during an anti-Israel protest at Washington University in St. Louis on Saturday — a day after she was confronted outside of Columbia University.
The physician-turned-activist and politician was among the more than 80 people arrested after the large group refused to leave the private university’s campus, according to the St. Louis Dispatch.
Footage posted to Stein’s X account showed police detaining and escorting the 73-year-old pol away from the protest.
Stein’s Campaign Manager Jason Call and Deputy Campaign Manager Kelly Merrill-Caye were also arrested.
“We’re standing here with the students at WashU, standing up for our Constitutional rights, standing up for the American people who want to end this genocide now,” Stein said.
Other posts claimed Stein was “holding the line with students” before police “used force against” her and other protesters.
“Jill and others were attempting to de-escalate with police before they began arresting people,” Stein’s X account said.
“It’s shameful that university administrations are condoning the use of force against their own students who are simply calling for peace, human rights, and an end to a genocide that the American people abhor.”
The protests were demanding an end to the war in Gaza and calling on the university to cut all ties with Boeing Co., according to the outlet. “It quickly became clear through the words and actions of this group that they did not have good intentions on our campus and that this demonstration had the potential to get out of control and become dangerous,” the statement from the school read. “All will face charges of trespassing and some may also be charged with resisting arrest and assault, including for injuries to police officers.”
“We are firmly committed to free expression and allow ample opportunity for voices to be heard on our campus. However, we expect everyone to respect our policies and we will take swift action to enforce them to their fullest extent.”
Stein’s arrest comes a day after she was confronted by Jewish protesters outside the Columbia University gates Friday morning, who ripped her as being “in the minority” and representing “the 1%” of Jews in opposition to Israel’s war against Hamas.
A physician and Harvard graduate, Stein, 73, sought the Green Party presidential nomination in 2012 and 2016.
She announced her 2024 bid on X last November, citing ending the “genocide in Gaza” as one of her top priorities.
Some college campuses that have reached their limit with Hamas agitators are taking action to remove tents and anti-Israel flags. Among the allies to the police at ASU was a group of local guys helping with the clean up.
As these guys were helping the police, you could hear the agitators complaining and harassing them.
“We’ve got the white frat boys throwing away protester’s belongings and we’ve got the pigs in brown doing nothing,” an anti-Israel agitator shouted.
Watch:
Earlier in the day, the police at the ASU campus were tearing down tents that were involved with the unruly Hamas agitators. They were met with anti-Israel chants with some words difficult to understand since they were shouting.
The city will pay a total $2.1 million to three white Department of Education executives demoted under ex-Schools Chancellor Richard Carranza and replaced by less-qualified people of color, they charged.
Lois Herrera, Jaye Murray and Laura Feijoo – who will receive $700,000 each – reached a settlement three months after a judge ruled they “offer evidence of race-based discrimination in Carranza’s DOE,” paving the way for a June trial.
“This landmark case is a resounding affirmation that discrimination of any form should not be tolerated in educational institutions, regardless of the race of those negatively impacted,” their lawyer Davida Perry told The Post.
Filed five years ago, the suit alleged Carranza waged a crusade against “toxic whiteness” in the city Department of Education.
Herrera retired in January 2023.
Murray, then executive director of the Office of Counseling Support Programs, was told to report to Rampersant, the first in a series of demotions.
She remains on the DOE payroll, but with sharply reduced duties.
Feijoo — then-Senior Supervising Superintendent who oversaw 46 DOE superintendents – was replaced by an underling, Cheryl Watson-Harris, who is Black and, at the time, lacked the required NY licensing.
Feijoo left the DOE for another job in November 2019, and Watson-Harris quit in June 2020 for an ill-fated top spot in Georgia.
An internal DOE email written by the DOE’s then-chief operating officer, Ursulina Ramirez, said de Blasio, who appointed Carranza chancellor in 2018, was “fixated on diversity.”In sworn depositions, both de Blasio and Carranza insisted they wanted to hire the most qualified candidates, but also leaders who “looked like New York City.” Those picked to replace the three women got the jobs after “a tap on the shoulder,” without the positions being advertised and other candidates interviewed, the suit charged.
Carranza quit the top DOE job in February 2021, and De Blasio left office on Dec. 31, 2021.
Now, the three women “feel justified and vindicated by the resolution of this significant legal battle,” Perry said.
“They hope the light that was shed on the DOE’s policies will help other institutions understand that every individual deserves to be treated with dignity and fairness.”
The city admitted no wrongdoing in the settlement.
“The DOE and City are fully committed to fair and inclusive employment practices, and we maintain that these claims lack merit,” a spokesman for the Law Department said. “Nevertheless, settlement of this long standing case was in the best interest of all parties.”

George Soros and his hard-left acolytes are paying agitators who are fueling the explosion of radical anti-Israel protests at colleges across the country.
The protests, which began when students took over Columbia University’s Morningside Heights campus lawn last week, have mushroomed nationwide.
Copycat tent cities have been set up at colleges including Harvard, Yale, Berkeley in California, the Ohio State University and Emory in Georgia — all of them organized by branches of the Soros-funded Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) — and at some, students have clashed with police.
The SJP parent organization has been funded by a network of nonprofits ultimately funded by, among others, Soros, the billionaire left-wing investor.
USCPR provides up to $7,800 for its community-based fellows and between $2,880 and $3,660 for its campus-based “fellows” in return for spending eight hours a week organizing “campaigns led by Palestinian organizations.”
They are trained to “rise up, to revolution.”
The radical group received at least $300,000 from Soros’ Open Society Foundations since 2017 and also took in $355,000 from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund since 2019.
It has three “fellows” who have been major figures in the nationwide protest movement.
Nidaa Lafi, a former president of the University of Texas Students for Justice in Palestine, was seen at an encampment at UT Dallas Wednesday making a speech demanding an end to the war in Gaza.
Lafi, a former legislative intern for the late Democratic Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, graduated from the school last year with a degree in global business and is now a law student at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.
3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament of the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.
4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.
5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.
6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.
8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.
9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.
10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.
11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)
12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
13. Do away with all loyalty oaths.
14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.
15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
18. Gain control of all student newspapers.
19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.
21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.
22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."
23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."
24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.
25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.
26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."
27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."
28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."
29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."
31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.
32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand.
39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.
42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use united force to solve economic, political or social problems.
43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.
44. Internationalize the Panama Canal.
45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction over nations and individuals alike.
